History
Since its beginnings in 1974 SONOTRONIC has continued to develop. Today, we are one of the leading companies in the field of joining plastics by ultrasonic technology.

- Dieter Nagel establishes SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH
in Karlsbad-Langensteinbach. To
start with, Dieter Nagel produced standard ultrasonic machines. From an idea
and the will to be independent, one of the world’s leading companies in
ultrasonics was to develop over the coming years.

|
- Three employees are
involved in the production of standard ultrasonic machines and components.
|
|
|
- The first special
ultrasonic machine is produced. This successfully lays the foundation for the
company’s upturn that followed.
|
|
|
- Ingo Nagel joins the
company.
|
|
|
- SONOTRONIC relocates
to Conweiler. Continued building of special machines puts the company on course
for growth. Now, with six employees, the move is necessary for space reasons.
|
|
|
- SONOTRONIC returns to
Karlsbad. The approx. 1200 m2 new building is inaugurated at
Becker-Göring-Straße 17 on the Ittersbach Industrial Estate. The number of
employees rises to 25.

|
|
- After only two years,
the new building is extended. A production hall of 1200 m² is inaugurated. 50
employees now work for the company.
- SONOTRONIC
establishes a branch at Castellbisbal (Barcelona) in Spain.

|
- The company is
growing strongly and employs around 85 people.
- EN ISO 9001 Quality
Management Certification gained and introduced.
|
|
|
- Tool construction and
pattern-making move into a new production building of 1200 m².
- SONOTRONIC
establishes a branch in Atlanta in the USA.

|
- SONOTRONIC extends
the company headquarters by the new 1500 m² engineering building at
Becker-Göring-Straße 25.
- SONOTRONIC Spain
moves into the newly built company building in Castellbisbal (Barcelona). There, on a production and office area of 1000 m²
special machines are produced for the Spanish market.

- EN ISO 14001
Environmental Management certification gained and integrated.
|
|
|
- SONOTRONIC USA
relocates from Altanta to Detroit.
- SONOTRONIC is amongst
the “TOP 100 – the 100 most innovative medium-sized companies” in Germany.

|
|
- A branch,
specialising in textile processing, is opened in Arnsberg.
|
|
|
- The 1000th
special machine is produced.
- A further production
hall, including office wing, is completed and occupied. The Karlsbad site has
therefore grown to more than 9000 m² of production and office space. The
company now employs 180 people.
- SONOTRONIC is awarded
the “Innovation Award of the State of Baden-Württemberg – the Dr.-Rudolf-Eberle-Prize” for exemplary achievements.

- The Arnsberg site is now expanded to 900 m².
