Review of the Techtextil '09: welding, cutting, punching, washing and thermofixing by ultrasound
Our trade fair year 2009 started very well with Techtextil in Frankfurt. Large numbers of visitors from home and abroad came to see us at our stand to learn about our innovative, ultrasound solutions for the textile industry. This year, we concentrated, in particular, on our roll seam applications, our standard welding, cutting and punching machine programmes, plus our new ultrasonic washing module.
High interest in SONOTRONIC technologies
International visitors were able to get an idea of our technologies and their advantages on the spot. At one standard machine we demonstrated the ultrasonic welding of baggage straps (PE) made from synthetic webbing, previously cut to size, likewise on site, by ultrasound.
A special
feature of the popular baggage strap is its two colours, made possible by our
two-sided dyeing technology. The strap was finished using our ultrasonic
thermofixing, which our visitors were also able to learn about in practice.
To the delight of many visitors they were able to test the material samples they had brought with them and their welding or cutting capabilities directly on our ultrasonic roll seam unit. Apart from using ultrasound purely to weld continuously, this technology also makes possible the combined cutting and welding of thermoplastic materials, i.e. so-called cutting and sealing.
At Techtextil in Frankfurt, we presented, for the first time, our ultrasonic washing module, which is something completely new. This optimises the energy efficiency of the textile finishing process. Precisely because the subject of energy is becoming more important and flexibility in production so vital, the new technology met with great interest.
As your machine and component manufacturer, know-how provider and engineering service, we look forward to welcoming you at this year’s other trade fairs. We will be pleased to advise you at any time on matters of, “Ultrasound in textile finishing”.
